(Sept. 13) “BK Fresh Apple Fries” -- fresh-cut apple slices that resemble french fries -- and organic unsweetened applesauce are among the components of new, healthful Kids Meals announced Sept. 12 by Burger King Holdings Inc., Miami.

The 11,200-unit worldwide fast food restaurant chain also said it would limit advertising to children 12 and younger to its Kids Meals, which contain no more than 560 calories per meal and less than 30% of calories from fat.

The company wants to “demonstrate through product innovation that better-for-you foods can be fun and taste good,” John Chidsey, Burger King’s chief executive officer, said in a news release.
