Santa Cruz-based California Certified Organic Farmers is taking its expertise to the Internet with a Web seminar, Marketing 101.
The May 18 seminar grew out of a well-received presentation on expanding the organic market at the group’s annual convention in February in Ventura, Calif., said Tina Cosentino, program and member services specialist.
“This webinar will be the first of a series of marketing trainings we plan to roll out over time,” she said. “Marketing 101 is designed for organic producers who are just getting started or considering organic certification, and for those with a few years of experience looking to diversify their marketing plan by entering new channels.”
Retailers also could benefit from attending the seminar, Cosentino said.
The presenter will be Dina Izzo, a 30-year organic produce industry veteran and founder of Bludog Organic Produce Services, Ben Lomond, Calif., a consulting firm for organic growers.
There is no cost to participate in the 90-minute web seminar, Cosentino said, but registration is required. Registration is online at www.ccof.org/programs.php, by telephone at (831) 423-2263.
