(March 26, 10:15 a.m.) The Chuck Olsen Co., a Visalia, Calif.-based grower-packer-shipper, has lured three Arizona produce industry veterans to the company’s first out-of-state office, scheduled to open April 1 in Phoenix.
Paul Dignan will manage the three-person office that includes Roy Deki and Tania Hermosillo, owner Chuck Olsen said. Deki will concentrate on sales to retail and wholesale customers, and Hermosillo will specialize in international sales.
“We’ve wanted to make this move for some time,” he said. “But it required the right combination of people, and we found that combination.”
Dignan, Deki and Hermosillo bring more than 60 years of fresh produce sales experience to the company, Olsen said. The Phoenix office will handle California citrus and table grapes, as well as other commodities from California and Arizona.
Dignan, Deki and Hermosillo had been with Trigent Marketing, a Phoenix firm Dignan founded in 1989 after working for Cargill Grain Co., Minneapolis, and Salyer Land Co., Corcoran, Calif. Trigent Marketing specialized in melons and summer vegetables. The trio’s move to The Chuck Olsen Co. will mean the shutting down of Trigent’s marketing operations.
The Phoenix office is at 16515 S. 40tth St., Suite 109, Phoenix, 85058. The telephone number is (480) 838-8644.
The Olsen family is in its fourth generation of growing in California, starting in 1910. The family operation evolved into The Chuck Olsen Co. in 1994.
