The Springfield, Ill.-based Tom Lange has received its first shipments of Seven Seas-branded asparagus from Peru, according to a news release.
Seven Seas Miami, which imports the vegetable, is a Tom Lange division.
Seven Seas sources the product through Miami ports and markets the vegetable in 11- and 28-pound cartons.
The growers can ship product throughout the year in all sizes, according to the release.
We have teamed up with some of the best asparagus growers in Peru in order to offer Seven Seas-branded asparagus to our U.S. customers,” Steve Blackburn, Seven Seas Miami’s vice-president, said in the release. “Being able to offer such a … product to our customers is one of our continuing goals at both Seven Seas and the Tom Lange Co.”
The initiative fits with Tom Lange’s plans to expand the Seven Seas label domestically and internationally, Greg Reinauer, Tom Lange’s president, said in the release.
Tom Lange is developing grower relationships throughout the world to supply retail and foodservice customers consistent product, he said in the release.
The Tom Lange Co. International Inc. also does business as Seven Seas Berry Sales.
