After more than four decades in the fresh produce industry, Mike Binn has retired from Columbine Vineyards.
For the past decade, Binn was sales manager at the Delano, Calif.-based table grape grower-shipper.
â€œMike’s leadership and presence have had a tremendous positive impact on our company,” Chris Caratan, co-owner of Columbine Vineyards, said in a news release. “The wisdom and experience he brought to our sales program, and our company as a whole, will certainly be missed, even though its impact will endure.”

Before joining Columbine Vineyards, Binn worked for several California table grape grower-shippers, according to the release.  Among them were Richard Bagdasarian Inc., Mecca, and Pandol Bros. Inc., Delano.
â€œThe produce industry was very good to me,” Binn said. “I was able to work with some of the very best people in the business.”

Retirement plans, he said, include traveling with his wife, seeing the grandchildren more often and sharpening his golf game.
â€œLord knows it needs the work,” Binn said.
