(March 21, 12:45 p.m.) Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc., Monterey, Calif., a subsidiary of Dole Food Co. Inc., Westlake Village, Calif., has promoted two members of its sales and marketing teams.

Greg Taylor, who joined Dole nine years ago, was promoted from director of central value-added sales to regional vice president of sales. Taylor will lead the retail sales for the Eastern and Central U.S. Over the years, Taylor served in numerous capacities, including regional sales manager and director of eastern value-added sales.

Greg has a real strong knowledge of the eastern market and he’s one of our more seasoned sales veterans in the value-added category,” said Bil Goldfield, communications manager for Dole Fresh Fruit Co. “Because they’re a younger group of field sales people over there, his experience is going to be instrumental in helping educate them to that market.”

Allen Davis is the new director of value-added sales operations. He will work closely with all departments of Dole Fresh Vegetables, as well as the field sales representatives.

“Allen is coming over from the commodities group and he brings a vast level of experience throughout the produce industry,” Goldfield said. “It will allow the sales people from value-added to understand more completely the other side of the business that goes with their value-added salads.”

Davis has been in the produce industry for 11 years. For the past five years, he worked for Dole in a variety of commodity sales and management positions, the most recent being director of sales, national accounts.

Effective March 23, Taylor and Davis report to Tim Stejskal, vice president of value-added sales for Dole Fresh Vegetables; and they will work closely with Ronda Reed, vice president of marketing for Dole Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.

“Because of their history here, both Greg and Allen have an excellent understanding of the broad offering of Dole’s family of fresh vegetables,” Stejskal said in the release. “This makes them the absolute right choices to lead these areas in bringing those items to our customers.”

On March 17, Ray De Riggi, former president and chief executive officer for ConAgra’s specialty meats division, took over as president of Dole Fresh Vegetables following Eric Schwartz’s departure. Schwartz left the company after 10 years to seek other opportunities.
