To lead the regionally aligned organization, the Watsonville, Calif.-based company promoted Kevin Murphy to president of Driscoll’s of the Americas, effective Jan. 31, according to a news release. Murphy previously served as senior vice president of supply and operations.

“As we move into the future, we will have a broader global reach and must be well coordinated to pursue our core mission across a wide range of geographies and cultural traditions,” said J. Miles Reiter, Driscoll’s chairman and chief executive officer, in a news release. “The company structure we are announcing today will position Driscoll’s to better meet this challenge.”

The company said its North American operations – in the U.S. and Mexico – including marketing, will be under the Americas unit. South American – Chile and Argentina – operations are to be transitioned in 2011.
