Earthcycle Packaging, makers of biodegradable, palm fiber-based packaging used in the fresh produce and other industries, has added another feather to its cap.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company is one of five winners of the 2009 Social Venture Network Innovation Awards.
The Social Venture Network is a San Francisco-based group of business, non-profit and academic leaders committed to social responsibility and sustainability.
The win is the latest of many for Earthcycle. Previous awards include the Produce Marketing Association’s Impact Award for Sustainability, the DuPont Award for Packaging Innovation and the GLOBE Award for Technology Innovation and Application.
Earthcycle is scheduled to receive its award at the Social Venture Network’s fall conference Oct. 22-25 in La Jolla, Calif.
