The foodservice salad, slaw and leafy greens provider purchased an 11-acre site in January and renovated a 50,000-square foot structure at 1222 Merrill Street.
GreenGate Fresh transformed the concrete tilt-up structure into a processing facility that meets current food safety standards, according to a news release.
Plant features include:
- stainless steel walls and ceilings in the processing room;
- custom built wash systems;
- green building standards;
- air cavity wall system and Venturi air flow; and
- upgraded lighting.
The plant is available for visits by clients, Jay Iverson, vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.
Yuma, Ariz.-based GreenGate Fresh was founded in 2009.
