LetLogistics service provider IFCO has donated a salad bar to the San Diego Unified School District, bringing Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools closer to its May goal of 350 donations across California.

The initiative has commitments for just over 300 salad bars statewide as of Feb. 27, said Andrew Marshall, policy and grassroots manager for United Fresh Produce Association. United Fresh is one of four founding partners in the program.

So far, school salad bar donations total 2,264 nationwide.

“IFCO is proud to support the United Fresh Foundation and Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools, as part of our worldwide responsibility initiative,” Fred Heptinstall, president of Tampa, Fla.-based IFCO Systems US, said in a news release.

IFCO, part of Brambles Limited, runs a pool of more than 172 million reusable plastic containers for fresh food use from more than 210 locations worldwide.
