International Herbs chef receives award

Gyurkovits Donald Gyurkovits, corporate chef for International Herbs Ltd., Surrey, British Columbia, won the Chef of the Year award from the British Columbia Chefs’ Association.

The award honors an exceptional chef for contributions to the culinary arts.

At International Herbs, Gyurkovits showcases new products and helps with market research and customer education.

Gyurkovits holds several honorary positions, including president of the British Columbia and Canadian chefs’ associations and chairman of the Culinary Arts Foundation of British Columbia.

He will be inducted into the American Culinary Federation’s honor society, the American Academy of Chefs, this July in connection with this award.
