How many re-calls are going to be needed before government, or retailers step in,
and demand that anybody that wants to sell perishables must take a course on basic
food safety?

There are certain basic steps needed in order to grow, transport, handle and sell food.

Testing 101 should be mandatory, enough is enough.

........and the pundits insist that organics are the safest fruits and produce.

Notice the virtual absence of conventionally grown fruit and produce in recall notices.

"Notice the virtual absence of conventionally grown fruit and produce in recall notices." Unless that is sarcasm, that's an absurd statement. I don't know the numbers of CV vs OG recalls but CV is being recalled just as often if not more so...don't be silly.
