To-Jo rolls out half-mushroom meatballs

To-Jo Fresh MushroomsTo-Jo Food Products Inc. has introduced a new meatball that is half ground beef, half mushrooms.

Avondale, Pa.-based To-Jo rolled out its new frozen-foods Bella Blended meatball line at the 2013 National Restaurant Show in Chicago, according to a news release.

“We are very excited about this product,” said Anthony D’Amico, president of both To-Jo Food Products Inc. and sister company Avondale-based To-Jo Mushrooms Inc. “The reduction of calories and fat make this product extremely attractive for health care and

school applications.”

The product will be available in half-ounce, one-ounce and two-ounce sizes for applications ranging from appetizers to entrees. Bella Blended products also will be available in both mild and spicy versions.

The line is a collaboration between To-Jo and Devault, Pa.-based Devault Foods, which will distribute product through its network of foodservice distributors.
