WhataburgerAs Whataburger management more closely examined the potential of sliced avocados, it became clear the product was a natural fit with the wide range of the company’s existing menu items which include also include chicken sandwiches, chicken fajita tacos and salads.

The chain wanted to satisfy growing demand, Rich Scheffler, Whataburger’s vice president of marketing and innovation, said in the release.

“With a fresh ingredient like avocado and our dedication to quality, it’s taken some time to make sure we get this right,” he said in the release. “It’s a very natural complement to our menu, and we especially love the ingredients we’ve put together for the avocado bacon burger.”
