(March 19, 11 a.m.) Consumers in more than 200 markets may see Art Ginsburg — aka “Mr. Food,” — teach them how to use artichokes at the end of March.

Castroville, Calif.-based Ocean Mist Farms has partnered with the food celebrity to feature artichokes in 90-second television segments scheduled to air March 30 and 31.

In the first segment, Ginsburg will illustrate how artichokes are grown, harvested and brought to market, according to a news release. In the second, he will demonstrate how to make an edible bowl out of a fresh-cooked artichoke.

This is not the first the produce industry has seen of Ginsburg. He joined Frank Muir, president of the Eagle-based Idaho Potato Commission, to judge a potato side dish contest at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in February. In April, Ginsburg is scheduled to feature Florida sweet corn on his show, “Mr. Food.”

Ginsburg has also promoted watermelon, lychee, apricots and Brussels sprouts, among other items.
