On the agenda at the conference, March 8-11, were workshops and sessions on Pro*Act’s strategic plan, its new food safety guidelines for small local farms, improving buying capability and competitiveness, client services and a speech from United Fresh Produce Association president Tom Stenzel.

“We feel it’s vital for all our trading partners to have a clear sense of what were doing, where we’re going and how we plan to get there,” said Steve Grinstead, president and chief executive officer of Pro*Act, in a news release.

The 36 suppliers in attendance, including Dole and Rainier Fruit Co., exhibited products and were able to talk about their products with distributors and foodservice operators.
