(Sept. 20) OAKLAND, Calif. — The Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s members in Northern California are getting an expo all their own.

The La Mirada, Calif.-based FPFC has scheduled its first-ever exposition for Northern California members March 7 at the Alameda Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Calif.

The organization announced the event at a luncheon Sept. 12 at the Oakland Hilton.

“Anything that provides more exposure helps,” said Mike Madden, president of Madden & Co. Inc., a San Francisco-based brokerage.

Council members in Southern California have had an expo, featuring more than 100 booths, for several years in Anaheim.

The one-day event is tailored specifically for retail produce managers, buyers and foodservice operators, said Linda Stein, council president.
