Maupin is the father of Matt Maupin, the first POW/MIA of the second Iraq War. The support center was founded in his memory. In honor of U.S. military personnel who have died during active duty, Total Quality Logistics, Cincinnati, donated more than $13,000 to the Yellow Ribbon Support Center and the Let Us Never Forget Scholarship Fund.

The donation marks the largest in the four-year history of TQL’s $1 Per Load Memorial Day Fundraiser, according to a news release.

TQL donated $1 for every load it arranged May 14-20. The total came to $13,771.

With this year’s donation, TQL has contributed more than $36,000 to the two organizations.

The Yellow Ribbon Support Center uses the money to help pay shipping costs for tens of thousands of care packages sent to military personnel serving in combat zones.

The scholarship fund helps pay college expenses for students who attend schools where military personnel who were killed in action went to school.

Veterans’ supporters founded the two organizations in 2006 in honor of Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin, the first POW/MIA in the second Iraq War, according to the news release. Maupins remains were recovered in Iraq in March 2008.

I can't thank TQL and their vets enough but I to mention that if they know of someone or have someone serving in harms way, please send me their mailing address and we will put them on our mailing list to send care packages to. Without your help we couldn't do what we do. Thanks K_Maupin@yahoo.com 513 752-4310
