The C.H. Robinson Worldwide Foundation, Eden Prairie, Minn., is celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week by creating the C.H. Robinson Worldwide Foundation Scholarship Program for Truckload Contract Carriers.

The scholarship program was developed to support and expand the educational success in both C.H. Robinson truckload employees and their children, according to a news release.

The program will award up to 10 $2,500 college scholarships to eligible students for the 2013-14 academic year.

Scholarship recipients must be employees at one of the 53,000 qualified truckload contract carriers of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. and must be employees with a minimum of one year employment with their respective company or dependent children of these employees, according to the release.

Applications will be available in January 2013 on the foundation website.

This is the first scholarship program that has been supported through the foundation.
