United Kingdom-based Marco Ltd., plans to showcase its packinghouse productivity improvement system at the Oct. 18-20 Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit 2013 expo in New Orleans.

Marco’s personnel plan to discuss how the company’s Yield Control Module can increase packhouse productivity by 30%, according to a news release.

After successful installations in the U.S., South America, South Africa, Kenya and Europe, Marco plans to display the hardware and software and operate a working packing station at its PMA booth.

The demonstration will show the system’s capabilities, according to the release.

It includes Marco’s One Light — One Fruit operator display which is a standard feature within the latest system version.

The feature increases the speed of the packing process and tells operators exactly how much they should add or remove, according to the release.

“This solution, a combination of hardware and software, simplifies and de-skills the manual packing process, whilst significantly increasing line speeds and reducing overpack/giveaway,” Marco officials said in the release.

The system also provides management with visibility across the packinghouse which ensures each operator is individually measured and monitored, according to the release.
