BarnardMission Produce Inc. has named Ben Barnard director of forward distribution center operations.

Barnard joined the Oxnard, Calif.-based company in late October.

He was previous director of operations for regional sourcing at Taylor Farms, a position he took in 2011. He was responsible there for transportation and cooler operations plus property, personnel and asset management for all shipping facilities.

Barnard worked in the product management division at Naturipe Farms after his 2009 graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He was responsible for the distribution of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries throughout distribution centers across the U.S., including imports from South America and Mexico.

“We are excited to bring Ben on board, as his prior work experience will allow him to fulfill the duties required to manage all eight Mission North American (forward distribution centers),” Jeremy Currier, vice president of logistics, said in a news release.
