Nominations are being sought for an advisory committee for CanadaGAP, the national food safety program for fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers.
Formerly called the Technical Working Group for the CanadaGAP program, members of what is now called the CanadaGAP Stakeholder Advisory Committee will serve from 2013 to 2015, according to a news release from Ottawa-based CanadaGAP.
Nominations should come with information about the candidate’s background and experience, better to assist the CanadaGAP board of directors with their selections, according to the release. Consideration will be given to representatives with expertise in various types of production, storage, packing, repacking and wholesale, as well as other relevant expertise, according to the release.
Members of the committee, or their employers, are expected to help cover the cost of attending committee meetings, according to the release. A limited subsidy will be provided by CanadaGAP to help offset travel expenses, according to the release.
