The California Air Resources Board has scheduled a public workshop on proposed amendments to the state’s regulations for transportation refrigeration units, which are used on many trailers that haul fresh produce.
The meeting is set for 10 a.m. to noon May 10 in the Byron Sher Auditorium at the Cal/EPA building in Sacramento, according to the board’s official notice.
The meeting is also scheduled to be accessible via webcast and teleconference. The webcast connection is www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast. To access the teleconference, participants in the U.S. and Canada should call 800-779-1505. Callers in Mexico should dial 212-287-1669. The teleconference pass code is 55390.
Officials will accept comments and questions during the webcast via e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
A draft of the proposed changes will be available a “few days before the workshop,” according to the meeting notice. The proposed changes on the agenda for the May 10 meeting are in addition to those adopted by the Air Resource Board in November 2010.
The current Transport Refrigeration Unit Airborne Toxic Control Measure regulations are available on the board’s website at www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru/tru.htm.
