ClimaProof boxes employ a waterproof plastic film for use in shipping iced products, says Lin Moses, marketing manager.

The ClimaSeries of products features ClimaGuard containerboard that boasts decreased moisture wicking and improved wet and dry strength, said Lin Moses, marketing manager.

The line includes ClimaProof boxes that are encapsulated in a waterproof plastic film yet are still recyclable, she said. They are ideal for products shipped iced, such as broccoli, asparagus, celery or green onions.

ClimaCoat barriers block moisture absorption and can be applied to any grade of paper, Moses said, adding that it has produce applications for berries, cucumbers, bell peppers and peaches.

International Paper also has a new case former that has a smaller footprint and flexibility to handle many box styles, said Jeremy Green, mechanical packaging operations manager.
