A California organic grower and distributor has extended its reach on the East Coast with the opening of a new facility.
Pescadero, Calif.-based Jacobs Farm opened a new packinghouse in Boston in early June, said Marina Pace, a company spokeswoman.
The HAACP-approved facility, the first on the East Coast for Jacobs Farm, is expected to provide same-day ordering and delivery of Jacobs Farm-branded organic herbs to the company’s Eastern customers.
The company also plans to ship its Del Cabo-branded organic tomatoes, basil and other fruits and vegetables from the new facility, Pace said.
Jacobs Farm has similar facilities in the California cities of Vernon and South San Francisco. Founded in 1980, the company grows more than 60 organic herbs.
