Maersk Group, Copenhagen, Denmark, is merging two of its brands, Maersk Logistics and Damco, into a single brand responsible for handling the companies’ supply chain management activities as well as its freight forwarding business.

The brands, which are scheduled to merge Sept. 7, will operate under the single brand name, Damco.

Under the new brand, Damco offers the company’s more than 10,000 global customer base a range of logistics services covering A-to-B forwarding and time-sensitive reefer logistics to advance supply chain management solutions and consultancy, according to a release from Maersk Group.

“We believe we represent the best of multiple worlds,” Rolf Habben-Jansen, chief executive officer of Maersk Logistics and Damco, said in the release. “The locally anchored and customer-focused forwarding business combined with the advanced and visionary solutions of our supply chain solutions — all backed up with the strengths, stability and capabilities of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.”

Until Sept. 7, the supply chain services continues to be delivered under the Maersk Logistics brand, and the forwarding services will continue to be Damco, according to the release.
