Mucci International Marketing Inc., marketers of the Mucci Pac brand of greenhouse vegetables, is giving a cut of its sales on Earth Day back to the earth.
The Kingsville, Ontario-based company plans to donate 10 cents for every case sold on April 22 to the David Suzuki Foundation, a Canadian environmental organization.
“We’ve had a lot of positive responses so far — a lot of verbal commitments and support,” said Sandra Dick, marketing coordinator.
The company’s sales staff will be focusing on increased volume that day, she said, to drum up orders and support.
Mucci Pac is converting all gas-operated machines to electric power, and using more environmentally sustainable resources for its packaging materials, according to a news release.
“We’ve added this program to push us even farther, to encourage us to go beyond the easy status quo and actively make changes,” said Joe Spano, director of sales and marketing, in the release.
