Multivac, a Kansas City, Mo.-based packaging manufacturer, plans to introduce a new compact version of its thermoformer at Interpack 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany May 12-18.
The Multivac R 095 thermoformer, an automated thermoform fill-seal packaging system, stands at just less than 7 feet long, making it ideal for users with limited space, according to a company release. Packages can be formed with a depth of up to 40 mm with flexible design possibilities.
The thermoformer doesn’t require compressed air or cooling water to operate its electric lifts.
“While this particular model will be best suited for lower-volume applications, it serves as an important first step in demonstrating the commercial viability of electric drive technology in packaging machinery,” Jan Erik Kuhlmann, president and chief executive officer, said in the release. “We look forward to discussing these and other developments with exhibition attendees this year.”
Multivac will launch the thermoformer in North America Nov. 1-4 at the Process Expo in Chicago.
