Princeton, Fla.-based New Limeco LLC has implemented a new traceback system.

The grower-shipper is using a Bradenton-Fla.-based ScoringAg program, which supplies a recordkeeping database to the company, according to a news release. The system provides labeling, recordkeeping and traceback.

New Limeco implemented the system to comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act, which was effective at the beginning of March, according to the release.

To help maintain food safety, the company also obtained Primus Labs certification of its packinghouse with the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points system. Primus also audited the company’s ranches and harvest operations for its Florida avocado crops.

New Limeco grows, packs and ships tropical fruits and vegetables.
