Jacksonville, Fla.-based Sea Star Line LLC plans to send 52 ships a year to the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority’s Tioga Marine Terminal.

Puerto Rican tomatoes and mangoes are among the cargoes expected to be handled by the line.
The weekly trips are schedule to begin on April 23, and will include containerized and roll-on/roll-off cargoes, according to a news release.

“This is great news for the Port of Philadelphia, and for one of our most efficient terminals,” John Estey, chairman of the authority, said in the release. “Tioga Marine Terminal has two container cranes, a mobile harbor crane, ample space for containers, an experienced labor force, and so many other attributes. It’s a great fit for Sea Star Line.”
