Purfresh Inc. has received industry recognition for its Intellipur shipment tracking system.
The Livermore, Calif.-based Purfresh has won the Macfrut Oscar in the logistics and services category during the Macfrut convention Oct. 12 in Cesena, Italy. Pompeo Catelli, a Purfresh partner, accepted the award.
The award recognizes fresh produce companies that innovate, cut costs and gain high customer satisfaction rates, according to a news release.
“Winning this award is a tremendous recognition for the excellent work of our designers and developers in creating a Web-based program that raises the bar for information transparency and achieving what was previously an unattainable level of insight into, and control over, the condition of fresh produce being stored in refrigerated rooms and marine containers shipped around the world,” David Cope, Purfresh’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
Intellipur is a Web-based satellite communications system that allows exporters or importers to track shipments throughout the world in real time and receive a comprehensive trip report once the shipment arrives at its destination.
