South Georgia Equipment & Supply is introducing a high-speed produce bagging machine and three other new products at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit convention in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 15-18.
The company’s Inno-Tech 3800 Revo bagger can process 48-50 bags per minute, about double the industry average of 21-32 for similar machines, according to Lyons, Ga.-based SGE.
Additionally, the 3800 Revo features a stainless steel frame and cabinet, high-performance drives, shafts and bearings and computer touch-screen for easy operation, according to a news release.
SGE’s other new products include the Upmatic 2715 dual line weigher, the Jongejans dust extraction system for on-ion and potato plants and ScanBreeze Light Blocking Film for potato packers.
The Upmatic line weigher processes two different bag weights simultaneously, said William Russell, an SGE spokesman.
“Computer-driven accuracy ensures the high speed equipment operates properly and reliably at optimal levels,” according to the news release.
The dust extraction system eliminates dust and reduces cleanup time by removing onion husks and skins throughout the packing line, SGE said.
“The system is self-cleaning, has low noise and creates no fluctuations in temperature,” according to the release.
SGE’s ScanBreeze Light Blocking Film, used with the 3800 Revo bagger, allows faster processing speeds and re-duces potato greening, according to the release.
Rob and Pam Hinnant, the husband and wife co-owners of privately held SGE, will be among company officials attending Fresh Summit at booth No. 117.
