The Georgia Watermelon Association has joined with members of Mercer University sororities for retail promotions in Macon, Ga.

Members of four Mercer sororities will be in Macon grocery stores June 15-16 to educate consumers on the nutritional value and affordability of watermelons, and on how to pick a good melon, according to an association news release.

Participating stores include Ingles, Harvey’s, Food Lion and Dollar General Market. Sorority members also will appear at Robins Air Force Base.
