FriedaCourtesy Frieda's Inc.Frieda’s Inc. plans to ship Hatch chilies from New Mexico in August and September and aid retailers interested in roasting them onsite.

“We have successfully helped many of our retail partners roast Hatch chilies at their stores,” Karen Caplan, president and chief executive officer of Los Alamitos, Calif.-based Frieda’s, said in a news release.

The green Hatch is a favorite of chile pepper aficionados, Caplan said. Frieda’s plans to offer three heat levels — mild, medium and hot. They will ship in 25-pound cases.

The chilies are grown in the Mesilla Valley near Hatch, N.M.

The company expects good volumes. More information is available at 714-826-6100.
