The Kroger Co. has promoted Jeff Burt, group vice president of perishables merchandising and procurement, to president of its central division.
Burt Burt succeeds Bob Moeder, who recently announced plans to retire, according to a news release.
Keith Dailey, Kroger’s director of media relations and corporate communications, said the retailer hasn’t yet released the name of Burt’s successor.
Burt was the Cincinnati-based Kroger’s group vice president of perishables merchandising and procurement since 2010.
“In his 27-year career with Kroger, Jeff has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of our business,” Rodney McMullen, president and chief operating officer, said in the release. “His enthusiasm, keen sense of the customer, and experience in merchandising and operations will be tremendous assets.”
Kroger’s central division includes 136 stores that market under the Kroger, Scott’s, Owen’s and Pay Less banners primarily in Indiana and Illinois.
