With a goal of rewarding individual stores and small chains, the National Mango Board is again sponsoring its annual mango retail display contest.
The organization plans to award more than $10,000 in cash prizes to 27 winning produce department managers that erect “big, beautiful mango displays” that display creativity and help educate shoppers about mangos, according to a news release.
Prize categories involve stores with one to five registers, six to nine registers and 10 or more registers.
The board plans to award nine prizes per category, including $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, $500 for third place and $200 each for six honorable mention winners.

“Small retailers are very important to the mango industry and since our ongoing retail promotions program is geared to large and mid-sized chains, this contest is our way of helping smaller retailers boost their mango sales and win prizes along the way,” Megan McKenna, the board’s director of marketing, said in the release.
