Ready Pac expands fresh-cut fruit offerings

Ready Pac FoodsCourtesy Ready Pac Foods Ready Pac Foods Inc. has begun shipments of new fresh-cut fruit products that feature pears, oranges and kumquats, among other items.

The new items from the Irwindale, Calif.-based shipper include a Pear Orange Fruit Mix in 10.5 and 32 ounces. The product also contains cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, red grapes and apples, according to a news release.

The other products are:

  • Pear & Apple Harvest Platter with green and red pear slices on opposite sides plus kumquats on red grapes; caramel dip; cheddar and pepper jack cheeses and two whole wheat cracker packs. The kumquats are available during fall and winter.
  • Pineapple Grape Orange medley with seasonally available fruits in 10.5 ounces and 32 ounces.

Ready Pac designed its new platter to adapt to seasons when kumquats are not available. The company also continues to tackle the challenge of cutting asymmetrically-shaped fruit like pears; the first blend to include that fruit came out in fall 2011.

“Working with challenging components and introducing exotic fruit into our fruit trays keeps Ready Pac on the cutting edge and helps our retail customers provide exciting fresh selections for their shoppers,” Tristan Simpson, director of marketing and corporate communications, said in the release.
