United Supermarkets LLC made it official with the Llano Logistics Inc., the provider in charge of the Lubbock, Texas-based retailer’s distribution centers in Lubbock and Roanoke, Texas.

The transaction closed May 31, according to a news release. Llano Logistics previously was owned by Exel Inc., a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL. About 300 employees are now United Supermarkets employees.

Llano Logistics handled the operations of United’s two distribution centers, built in 2000 and 2010, which supply United’s 52 stores in north and west Texas.

“There are significant cost savings and significant operational efficiencies that we gain through this acquisition,” said Chris St. Clair, United’s executive vice president for information and logistics, in a news release. “Most importantly, we also gain dedicated team members who have been with Llano since the beginning and who have worked to support Untied exclusively.”
