An Alabama retailer is the winner of a 2009 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle in an annual promotion hosted by the Wisconsin potato industry.
Don Parsons, an official with Birmingham, Ala.-based Associated Grocers-South Inc., won the customized “Spudster” motorcycle in the Antigo-based Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association’s direct-mail sweepstakes campaign, according to an association news release.
Presenting the bike to Parsons was Dick Okray, co-owner of Plover, Wis.-based Okray Family Farms, an Associated Grocers-South supplier.
This is the 8th year for the sweepstakes, the culmination of the association’s annual nine-month direct mail marketing campaign.
Other prizes included $50, $100 and $150 gift cards from various retailers.
The “Spudster” features a customized paint job including the Denver-based United States Potato Board’s “Potatoes: Goodness Unearthed” slogan.
