Brookshire Grocery to use Xata for fleet logistics

Brookshire Grocery Co., which operates 150 supermarkets in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi, has hired Minneapolis-based Xata Corp. as its provider of onboard computer technology for its trucking fleet.

Brookshire selected XataNet fleet operations software platform and services for its fleet of more than 75 vehicles, according to a release from Xata. Xata also is providing implementation and training to ensure a smooth transition, which is expected to be completed by the end of November.

“We really like how Xata is evolving its fleet optimization technology,” Scott Reilly, vice president of logistics for Brookshire, said in the release. “With XataNet, we have a fleet operations solution that can expand as we need it. Brookshire’s is proud of its high level of customer service and customer satisfaction, and XataNet will help us maintain this level of service by alerting us with delivery status in real time.”

XataNet will monitor performance of Brookshire’s fleet, according to the release, including delivery details and driver behavior, such as speeding, excessive idling and hours of service compliance.

“Xata is helping strengthen Brookshire’s ability to optimize its fleet operations,” David Gagne, executive vice president, field operations for Xata, said in the release. “XataNet will enable them to carry out their mission to provide exemplary customer service by enhancing their fleet productivity, safety and compliance.”
