Quick response codes are now part of Classic Salads LLC packaging design for retail products in Canada. The new packaging will be on display in the Watsonville, Calif., company’s booth at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s show, April 13-15.
The codes allow consumers with smartphones to immediately access information about the baby leaf salads via a mobile-friendly landing page that has links to product and company information as well as recipes on the company’s website, www.classicsalads.com, according to a news release from the company.
Classic Salads was established in 2000 by Salinas Valley grower Lance Batistich. The company introduced a line of retail products in October 2010.
“This gives us an opportunity to tell consumers our story as well as offer helpful tips, information and recipe ideas right there in the store,” vice president of sales and marketing John Burge in the release.
