The Michigan Apple Committee is enticing consumers in a six-state area to pick up Michigan-grown apples with a vacation giveaway.

The DeWitt-based committee’s Michigan Apple Vacation Sweepstakes promotion, which is underway, lasts through the end of the year. It is a first of its kind for the committee, according to a news release.

The committee is giving away three trips, each for a family of four, to Boyne Highlands of Boyne Mountain Resort that include two nights’ stay and choices of activities that include skiing, golfing and a zipline adventure.

In addition to providing an incentive for choosing Michigan apples, the promotion is also meant to promote Michigan as an agri-tourism destination, said Holly Whetstone, marketing and communications specialist for the committee, in the release.

Sweepstakes details are available on the committee website. Consumers must enter online to be eligible.
