Mucci unveils new brand and logo

Mucci International Marketing has a new brand name and logo for its greenhouse-grown produce.

The Kingsville, Ontario-based company started using Mucci Farms as its brand Sept. 16, and plans to unveil new packaging at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit convention Oct. 15-18. The packaging should hit store shelves with the new crop in March, as old packaging is used up.

“Mucci Farms is our brand name,” said Sandra Dick, marketing coordinator. “We’ll still do business as Mucci Pac Ltd. and Mucci International Marketing Inc.”

In the coming months, the company also expects to launch a new website geared to consumers with nutritional information and recipes and buyers with packaging options and availability.

The new branding is meant to appeal to consumers’ desire to know more about where their food comes from, according to a company news release. The first generation of Muccis to own the company started with 21 acres of field-grown tomatoes for Heinz.

Today, Mucci International Marketing represents more than 400 acres of greenhouse tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and eggplant and has its own greenhouses, packinghouses and marketing support.

“The business has grown, but this is still our family farm,” Danny Mucci, general manager, said in the release.
