“It’s part of our overall rebranding strategy to bring everything under the Peri & Sons Farms’ brand,” said Teri Gibson, marketing and customer relations manager. “We’re trying to bring a little bit more excitement to the onion category.”

The new 2-, 3- and 5-pound packages, made of 100% recyclable film and now being shipped to customers, come just two months after the company unveiled its newly designed shipping cartons. The 5-pound packages are designed for club stores and custom orders, Gibson said.

The front of the new packaging highlights the onion variety inside. The back of each package contains health and nutrition information and two recipes.

“These are easy to make recipes that are exclusive to the onion variety in the package,” Gibson said.

There also is a combo package containing all three color onion varieties, she said.

In addition to being versatile, healthful and a good food value, onions are about the only ingredient that is found in nearly every cuisine in the world, Gibson said.

The new packages also promote the Peri & Sons Farms’ Onion Obsession club, which consumers may join by visiting the company’s website, www.PeriandSons.com. Club members may go online to access recipes and other helpful onion information and to receive periodic gift mailings, Gibson said.
