The domestic marketer of Pink Lady apples hopes to cash in on health-conscious lovebirds this Valentine’s Day.
Yakima, Wash.-based Pink Lady America LLC will promote fruit for Valentine’s Day 2010 using point-of-sale materials that emphasize the variety’s healthfulness, according to a company news release.
The promotion’s retail poster is bordered with lace, like a greeting card, and includes the tag line, “Give a Valentine’s Gift of Health.” Below the text is a heart with the words “Pink Lady” in it.
A second tag line, below the graphic, reads “An Excellent Source of Fiber for your Loved Ones.”
A record number of Pink Ladys will be available for Valentine’s Day promotions this year, said Alan Taylor, Pink Lady America’s marketing manager.
