Well-Pict targets back-to-school with TV appearance

Well-Pict Berries Inc. wants parents to think of berries for lunch box treats.

The Watsonville, Calif.-based company is following up on a successful Valentine’s Day promotion with Lifetime Television. The company will be featured on the network’s “The Balancing Act,” promoting berries for back-to-school.

E-mail response and feedback from the Valentine’s Day promotion was very positive, said Dan Crowley, Well-Pict sales manager, in a news release.

“With studies showing that our berries are overwhelmingly loved by kids, “The Balancing Act’s” audience and our mission to inform families of the healthy benefits of our proprietary berries was a natural fit,” Crowley said.

Episodes featuring Well-Pict berries are scheduled to air Aug. 20 and September 3. The show focuses on the health benefits of berries along with easy-to-prepare recipes for lunch boxes and afternoon snacks.

A promotion to give away more than $3,000 in prizes, including an Apple iPad with a strawberry skin accessory, runs on Well-Pict's website and Facebook page Aug. 2 through Sept. 17.
