Parents of clementine-loving kids who also are fans of the animated Nick Jr. TV series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! will have opportunities for rebates later this year through a cross promotion from Anchor Bay Entertainment, Beverly Hills, Calif.
Anchor Bay Entertainment is rolling out a cross-promotional campaign with five food companies, including Darling brand clementine marketer LGS Specialty Sales, New York. Consumers receive rebates redeemable after purchasing Wubbzy DVDs and products, according to a release from Anchor Bay Entertainment.
The campaign coincides with the Oct. 13 DVD release of “Wubb Idol,” which debuted on Nick Jr. last spring.
Darling Clementines plans to offer a $3 mail-in rebate to consumers who purchase a Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! DVD and a five-pound wooden or cardboard crate or two- or three-pound bag of Darling clementines. The Wubbzy logo and cover art of a new Wubbzy DVD will be featured on the packaging.
The promotion runs from November to February, which coincides with the Darling clementines season, said Luke Sears, president of LGS Specialty Sales, New York.
“We expect to have about 10 million boxes, but not all will be for the promotion,” Sears said.
The promotion is expected to reach more than three million U.S. consumers across according to the release.
“We’ll have a coupon on clems that gives money off on the purchase,” Sears said. “There’ll be some fliers sent out. Some retailers will embrace it, I’m sure, while some others might not. It all depends on the retailer.”
