(Feb. 28) Giorgio Foods Inc., a grower, processor and distributor of mushrooms and other products, has promoted its director of school foodservice to a position that will have him working with Giorgio’s entire foodservice sales staff.

In Paul Tucker’s previous role, he managed a territory comprised of Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Now, according to a company news release, Tucker will serve as national sales manager for school foodservice and contract manufacturing (co-packing).

Giorgio said Tucker joined the firm 24 years ago as a project manager in the frozen foods division.

"My production background has helped me tremendously in moving forward in helping to educate others in sales that are not as familiar with the production process," Tucker said in the release.

"Paul Tucker has been a valuable member of our team for many years and is extremely knowledgeable of our product line, the food industry, and most importantly, the needs of our customers," said Giorgio Foods vice president of sales and marketing Ron Hoffman, in a statement.
