Bonnie Connell, Florence Connell, and Keith Connell announce prize winners in the Keith Connell Golf Tournament, which next year will be the Jim Connell Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of Keith Connell’s father and former publisher of The Packer.

(June 20) The annual Keith Connell Golf Tournament in early June — played under a new moniker as the Jim Connell Memorial Golf Tournament for the Community of the Good Shepherd — raised about $72,000.

The tournament changed its name this year to honor the father of Keith Connell, president of Stilwell, Kan.-based broker Keith Connell Inc.

Jim Connell died March 27 at 87.

Jim Connell worked for The Packer for 41 years and spent six years as its publisher.

Proceeds from the tournament go to The Community of the Good Shepherd, a home for developmentally disabled men. Keith Connell is on its board of directors.
