(Jan. 25) Minneapolis-based Green Giant Fresh/Sholl Group II plans to expand its value-added vegetable roster with the creation of a new post dedicated to that task.

Jo Gruber joined the company Jan. 14 as director of strategic business and product development, said Sarah Wangler, marketing manager. Gruber’s primary task will be to expand the company’s value-added offerings and licensing opportunities.

While a plan for specific product roll-outs is still in progress, Wangler expected extensions of the company’s stir-fry and medley lines. Twelve vegetables are used in Green Giant value-added packs, and Wangler anticipated products featuring new combinations of them.

Gruber comes to The Sholl Group from Schwan’s Consumer Brands North America Inc., Bloomington, Minn., where she spearheaded several new product and innovation initiatives.
